Please meet Malcolm Waugh, the CEO of Frugalpac, a sustainable packaging company on a mission to reduce the carbon footprint of the drinks industry.

Your Company: Sustainable packaging company Frugalpac is on a global mission to decarbonise the drinks industry. From its 11,000sq ft Innovation Centre in Ipswich, it looks to find solutions to the problems caused by incumbent packaging, by creating and supplying recycled paper-based products with the lowest carbon footprint that are easily recycled again and don’t need to go to landfill.

Frugalpac produces the Frugal Bottle, the world’s first and only commercially available paper bottle for wines and spirits - and the machines that make them.

Your passion: I am in the perfect company to assist me in unwinding, after a long walk with my Great Dane Bruce, there is nothing better than sitting down with family and friends and enjoying a few Frugal Bottles of wine.

Podcast Pick: I am a little too old to have adopted podcasts, but I do enjoy a good book, and I gained great inspiration from “The Tipping Point: How Little Things Can Make a Big Difference” by Malcolm Gladwell particularly poignant, given the vision we have for Frugalpac.

Proud Accomplishment: Getting to a position to lead a great team of people who have brought great products and an excellent company to life.

Skill to Learn: Early on I wanted to play an instrument and speak various languages, no music teacher worth their salt would touch me and every time I opened my mouth in a different language the receiving party answered in better English than me. Nowadays I quite fancy learning Northern Soul.
